Fournir une assistance cognitive pour garantir l’autonomie d’un occupant présentant des troubles cognitifs. Diagnostiquer le trouble cognitif limitant l’autonomie et le pallier par des indices environnementaux. En 2002
Co-fondatrice en 2002 du laboratoire DOMUS du département d’informatique de l’Université de Sherbrooke, Professeure Pigot allie ses connaissances en informatique et en ergothérapie pour concevoir et valuer l’assistance cognitive.
La conception participative est pour Professeure Pigot le moyen de récolter souhaits et besoins des personnes et de leurs aidants pour prolonger le maintien à domicile. Elle s’intéresse donc aux démarches de conception, incluant la description de persona, à la conception d’interfaces distribuées, d’interfaces tangibles et d’apprenabilité des interfaces.
Elle a préalablement enseigné la reconnaissance de la parole à l’Université de Sherbrooke et l’ergothérapie en gérontologie à l’École de réadaptation de l’Université de Montréal. Elle est membre active du Centre de recherche sur le vieillissement du CIUSS- Sherbrooke et du Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation de Montréal.
L’informatique omniprésente dans nos sociétés envahit de grands pans de l’activité humaine dont la recherche d’information, l’organisation de la vie quotidienne, le divertissement et la communication avec des amis. Mais, les personnes âgées et les personnes ayant des troubles cognitifs dus à des maladies ou des traumatismes ne bénéficient pas autant qu’elles le pourraient de l’usage des nouvelles technologies pour faciliter le maintien à domicile et rester en contact avec leurs proches. Le but de ma recherche est d’identifier les lignes directrices auxquelles les applications doivent répondre pour être acceptées et utilisées par les personnes avec des besoins spécifiques.
Lors de précédentes recherches, j’ai conçu des technologies d’assistance en design participatif et dans une démarche multidisciplinaire. Parmi ces technologies, on retrouve des technologies facilitant l’organisation de l’emploi du temps et des technologies accompagnant la réalisation d’activités complexes, que ce soit sur des appareils mobiles ou intégrés dans un appartement intelligent.
Les questions de recherche se situent aux divers paliers de conception
Les cadres d’analyse de ma recherche sont donc la conception centrée utilisateur, la conception participative, l’approche instrumentale, l’informatique diffuse et les interfaces tangibles.
Mes recherches actuelles se concentrent sur la conception d’interaction plaisante et émotionnelle par l’intermédiaire d’un agent virtuel, d’interfaces multi couches pour faciliter l’apprentissage et l’intégration des technologies d’assistance dans un habitat intelligent pour rendre plus efficace les rappels d’activités.

abstract = {The current Internet of Things (IoT) development involves ambient intelligence which ensures that IoT applications provide services that are sensitive, adaptive, autonomous, and personalized to the users' needs. A key issue of this adaptivity is context modelling and reasoning. Multiple proposals in the literature have tackled this problem according to various techniques and perspectives. This chapter provides a review of context modelling approaches, with a focus on services offered in Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) systems for persons in need of care. We present the characteristics of contextual information, services offered by AAL systems, as well as context and reasoning models that have been used to implement them. A discussion highlights the trends emerging from the scientific literature to select the most appropriate model to implement AAL systems according to the collected data and the services provided.},
